Groundbreaking of the Trần Hưng Đạo Bridge Project – Hanoi

The Trần Hưng Đạo Bridge is a key transportation project spanning the Red River, connecting Hanoi’s central districts (Hoàn Kiếm and Hai Bà Trưng) with the eastern area (Long Biên District). The project is developed by the Hanoi Project Management Board for Transport Construction Investment, with a total investment of VND 7,500 billion.

The bridge has a total length of approximately 5.6 kilometers, including an 870-meter main span. The bridge deck is 43 meters wide, accommodating six lanes for motor vehicles, along with dedicated bicycle lanes and pedestrian paths. It is designed for a maximum speed of 80 km/h. The main river-crossing section will feature a continuous steel arch structure, while the approach roads on both ends will use pre-stressed reinforced concrete box girders.

Construction officially commenced on October 9, 2025, and completion is expected by 2027.
