Dalat Market
Dalat Market is located in the heart of the city, near Xuan Huong Lake, and stands as a symbol of Dalat’s tourism and culture. It serves not only as a local market and commercial center but also as a popular destination for sightseeing, shopping, and dining among visitors.
The market operates from early morning until around 6 p.m., while the specialty goods area and Dalat Night Market outside usually stay open until 2–3 a.m., attracting crowds with its lively atmosphere, diverse products, and the distinct cool air of Dalat’s evenings.
Historically, the market was first established in 1929 as “Cho Cay” (Wooden Market) and has undergone several reconstructions and renovations. The most significant transformation came in 1958, when it was redesigned by architect Nguyen Duy Duc and completed in 1960, later refined by architect Ngo Viet Thu. In 1993, Block B was built as part of an expansion project, making Dalat Market one of the first multi-story markets in Vietnam.
Today, with its three bustling floors filled with flowers, local produce, handicrafts, and fashion items, along with its unique cultural charm, Dalat Market remains an unmissable stop for anyone exploring the City of Flowers.
