It is a <strong data-start=\"267\" data-end=\"305\">passenger and freight railway line<\/strong> connecting the <strong data-start=\"321\" data-end=\"344\">Lao Cai border gate<\/strong> with <strong data-start=\"350\" data-end=\"359\">Hanoi<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"364\" data-end=\"395\">Lach Huyen Port (Hai Phong)<\/strong>. The project includes a <strong data-start=\"420\" data-end=\"452\">main line length of 390.9 km<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"457\" data-end=\"484\">27.9 km of branch lines<\/strong>, built to the <strong data-start=\"499\" data-end=\"551\">1,435 mm standard gauge (international standard)<\/strong>, with <strong data-start=\"558\" data-end=\"634\">design speeds ranging from 80 km\/h to 160 km\/h depending on each section<\/strong>.<\/p><p data-start=\"637\" data-end=\"791\">The project has a <strong data-start=\"655\" data-end=\"733\">total investment of over VND 203,200 billion (approximately USD 8 billion)<\/strong> and is implemented under the <strong data-start=\"763\" data-end=\"790\">public investment model<\/strong>.<\/p><p data-start=\"793\" data-end=\"1086\"><strong data-start=\"793\" data-end=\"808\">Component 1<\/strong> of the project is scheduled to <strong data-start=\"840\" data-end=\"877\">break ground on December 19, 2025<\/strong>, focusing on the <strong data-start=\"895\" data-end=\"973\">construction of station infrastructure and station squares along the route<\/strong>, with a <strong data-start=\"982\" data-end=\"1037\">total investment of approximately VND 3,300 billion<\/strong>.
