Cu Lao Cau (Lam Dong) – A Pristine Gem Amid the Blue Sea

Cu Lao Cau, also known as Hon Cau, is a small island located in Tuy Phong Commune, Lam Dong Province, about 110 kilometers northeast of Phan Thiet City.

The island stretches approximately 1,500 meters in length and between 300 to 800 meters in width. It lies about 10 kilometers from the mainland, with a travel time of 20 to 30 minutes by boat. Cu Lao Cau resembles a battleship, surrounded by countless uniquely shaped and colorful rock formations.

The name “Cu Lao Cau” originates from the abundance of rau cau chan vit (a type of seaweed) found in the area. The island features many fascinating rock beaches and caves with charming names such as Love Cave, Fairy Bath Beach, Pleasure Creek, Coral Beach, and Casuot Beach — ideal for couples, adventure seekers, and nature enthusiasts.

The rocks on the island change color with the shifting daylight, interwoven with lush green grass, creating a vivid natural landscape. Cu Lao Cau has been designated as a marine life conservation area and an eco-tourism destination, captivating visitors with its pristine beauty and mystical charm.
