Lo Lo Chai and Quynh Son Named Among the World’s Best Tourism Villages 2025

On October 17, 2025, the United Nations Tourism Organization (UN Tourism) announced the “Best Tourism Villages 2025” awards in Huzhou, China. Vietnam proudly has two representatives honoredLo Lo Chai Cultural Tourism Village (Ha Giang) and Quynh Son Community Tourism Village (Lang Son), surpassing more than 270 nominations from 65 countries.

The award recognizes outstanding rural destinations that excel in cultural preservation, sustainable tourism development, and community livelihood improvement, based on criteria of governance, innovation, sustainability, and environmental responsibility.

Lo Lo Chai stands out for its green and sustainable tourism model, focusing on environmental protection, reducing single-use plastics, and preserving traditional architecture. Meanwhile, Quynh Son, located within the Bac Son Uprising Special National Relic Area and Lang Son UNESCO Global Geopark, is renowned for its distinct Tay ethnic culture, offering visitors authentic experiences such as staying in traditional stilt houses, weaving, and enjoying local cuisine.

To date, Vietnam has five villages recognized by UN TourismThai Hai, Tan Hoa, Tra Que, Lo Lo Chai, and Quynh Son — affirming the country’s growing prominence in global sustainable community-based tourism.
