The Quảng Trạch II LNG Power Plant is located in the Hòn La Economic Zone, Quảng Trạch District, Quảng Bình Province. The project is invested by Power Project Management Board No. 2 (EVNPMB2), representing Vietnam Electricity (EVN), with a total investment of approximately USD 2 billion.

The project aims to generate electricity using LNG instead of coal, with a capacity of 1,500 MW, comprising two units applying Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) technology. It consists of two main components:
• The power plant section, costing more than VND 40,000 billion
• The LNG terminal and storage facilities, costing nearly VND 12,000 billion

The project is expected to commence construction in early 2026, bring Unit 1 into operation in Q4/2028, Unit 2 in Q1/2029, and complete the entire project by 2030.
