Groundbreaking of Phase 1 of the Khai Long – Ca Mau Tourist Area Wind Power Plant Project in Dat Mui Commune, Ca Mau Province
The Phase 1 Khai Long – Ca Mau Tourist Area Wind Power Plant Project is located in Rach Tho Hamlet, Dat Mui Commune, Ca Mau Province, and is developed by BCG Khai Long 1 Wind Power Joint Stock Company with a total investment of approximately VND 6.32 trillion.
The project is being developed on a site covering more than 480 hectares, including 454 hectares of offshore area and 26.73 hectares of onshore land, with a total installed capacity of 100 MW. The project comprises 16 wind turbines, each with a capacity of approximately 6.25 MW, a 35/110 kV substation with a capacity of 2 × 63 MVA, and a 24-km double-circuit 110 kV transmission line connecting to the 220 kV Nam Can Substation. Once operational, the wind farm is expected to generate approximately 253 GWh of electricity annually for the national power grid.
The project officially broke ground on July 1, 2026, and is scheduled for completion and commercial operation in May 2028.
