The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Hanoi People’s Committee will jointly organize the First World Culture Festival in Hanoi.
With the theme “Culture as the foundation – Art as the means”, the First World Culture Festival in Hanoi is not only a large-scale cultural event but also one of Vietnam’s most significant cultural diplomacy activities in 2025. The event aims to become an annual international festival and will take place from October 10 to 12, 2025, at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel Heritage Site, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage.
The festival will bring together 48 participating countries, featuring:
• 45 national cultural spaces
• 34 international culinary booths
• 23 domestic and international art troupes
• 12 organizations showcasing books and publications
• 22 countries participating in the international film screening program
Visitors will be able to experience diverse cultural expressions, from performing arts, music, and folk dances to cinema, fine arts, and global cuisine — all within the heritage setting of the Thang Long Imperial Citadel.
Both ceremonies will combine cross-cultural performances and 3D mapping shows, conveying the message: “Culture is the bridge of humanity, and creativity is the universal language of the world.”
A highlight of the festival will be the “Fashion Show – Heritage Steps”, held on the evening of October 11, 2025, showcasing nearly 100 traditional costumes from participating countries — promising to be the most spectacular international ethnic fashion show ever held in Vietnam.
Throughout the three-day festival, the Thang Long Imperial Citadel will transform into a “shared home of the world,” where music, colors, and flavors intertwine in an atmosphere of friendship and international solidarity.
The event aims to foster people-to-people exchanges, strengthen mutual understanding and trust among nations, and reaffirm the vital role of culture in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — toward peace, cooperation, and shared prosperity.
The festival will be open to the public free of charge on October 11–12, 2025.
