Cu Chi Tunnels – Vietnam’s Largest Underground Wonder

The Cu Chi Tunnels in Ho Chi Minh City have been honored among the Top 7 Most Adventurous Destinations in Southeast Asia and the Top 12 Most Fascinating Underground Wonders in the World. This vast underground network was originally built during the First Indochina War (1945–1954) to serve as secret passageways for revolutionary forces.

During the Vietnam War, the tunnels were expanded into a military base for guerrilla forces, functioning as shelters, communication routes, medical stations, weapon storage, and launch sites for surprise attacks. They served as a strategic headquarters, playing a crucial role in the success of the 1968 Tet Offensive.

Today, the Cu Chi Tunnels are a renowned historical attraction, offering visitors a chance to explore the wartime underground world and experience the resilience and ingenuity of the Vietnamese people.
