Hanoi Opera House Project

The Hanoi Opera House Project (Pearl Opera House), developed by Sun City Co., Ltd. (a subsidiary of Sun Group), has officially been approved for investment. This is one of the city’s most ambitious cultural projects, envisioned to become a new international symbol of Hanoi.

The project will be built as a floating structure on Dam Tri Lake, located on the Quang An Peninsula, Tay Ho District, Hanoi, covering a planned area of 44 hectares, which includes the opera house and a surrounding park. The total investment is estimated at VND 12,756 billion (USD 500 million). The opera house features a modern pearl dome design created by renowned Italian architect Renzo Piano, a world-class “master of architecture.”

Once completed, it is expected to become one of the largest opera houses in Asia, with a capacity of more than 2,000 seats. According to the approved timeline, the project preparation phase will take place from Q1 to Q3 2025. Following that, the implementation phase will run until Q1 2029, with the project expected to be completed between Q2 and Q3 2029.
