Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Can Gio – Vung Tau Sea Crossing Project in Ho Chi Minh City and Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province
The Can Gio – Vung Tau Sea Crossing Project extends from Can Thanh – Long Hoa Boulevard in Can Gio Commune, Ho Chi Minh City to the intersection with 30 Thang 4 Street in the Vung Tau, Rach Dua, and Tam Thang wards, and is developed by Vingroup with a total investment of approximately VND 93 trillion (USD 3.56 billion).
The project has a total length of approximately 14.6 km and features six traffic lanes with a design speed of 80 km/h. It includes more than 8 km of sea-crossing bridges and 3.85 km of subsea tunnels, along with supporting facilities such as eco-rest areas, EV charging stations, parking areas, food and beverage facilities, service buildings, and modern landscaped public spaces.
The project officially broke ground on July 1, 2026, and is expected to be completed and put into operation around 2029.
