The Expansion Project of Terminal T2 – Da Nang International Airport is located in Hoa Cuong Bac Ward, Da Nang City, and is invested by Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company (AHT), with a total investment of nearly VND 1.5 trillion (USD 56.6 million).

The project is being developed on an expansion area of approximately 3,600 m², increasing the total terminal floor area to more than 21,085 m². Upon completion, Terminal T2 will increase its operational capacity to 6 million passengers per year, expand the number of check-in counters from 54 to 85, increase boarding gates with passenger boarding bridges from 4 to 7, and upgrade the baggage handling system from 2 to 4 departure baggage carousels and from 4 to 6 arrival baggage carousels.

In addition, the project adopts a Biophilic design language, integrating green spaces, natural lighting, and modern ventilation systems to enhance passenger experience. The air-conditioning system utilizes inverter technology and Variable Air Volume (VAV) control to optimize operations and improve energy efficiency.

The project officially commenced on May 19, 2026, and is expected to meet passenger growth demand during the 2026–2030 period.
