Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Vinh – Thanh Thuy Expressway Project in Nghe An Province

The Vinh – Thanh Thuy Expressway Project is located in Nghe An Province, connecting the area of Vinh City to Thanh Thuy International Border Gate. The project is being implemented by the Nghe An Provincial People’s Committee with a total investment of approximately VND 23.94 trillion (~USD 940 million).

The project has a total route length of more than 60 km, passing through 09 communes in Nghe An Province. The expressway is designed with 04 complete lanes, while land clearance is planned for an ultimate scale of 06 lanes. The project includes synchronized infrastructure components such as interchanges, traffic tunnels, overpasses, rest stops, and modern technical infrastructure systems.

The expressway plays an important role as a key component of the Hanoi – Vientiane Expressway, directly connecting with the North–South Expressway (Eastern Corridor), the Ho Chi Minh Road, and the Vietnam – Laos East–West Economic Corridor.

The project officially commenced on May 18, 2026, and is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2029.
