Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Ho Chi Minh City – Moc Bai Expressway Project
The Ho Chi Minh City – Moc Bai Expressway is a key infrastructure project with a planned length of approximately 51–53.5 km. The expressway is designed with 4 lanes for motor vehicles, a maximum speed limit of 120 km/h, and will be developed under the PPP model in the form of BOT (Build – Operate – Transfer). The project aims to ease congestion on National Highway 22 — the northwest gateway of Ho Chi Minh City — while fostering socio-economic development in the city’s northwest region and strengthening connectivity with Cambodia.
Project segments include:
Ho Chi Minh City section: Approximately 7–24.7 km from Ring Road 3 (Cu Chi).
Tay Ninh section: Approximately 26–26.3 km extending to the Moc Bai Border Gate.
With a total estimated investment of around VND 19.6 trillion (equivalent to ~USD 830 million), the project officially broke ground on August 19, 2025, and is expected to be completed by the end of 2027.
