Groundbreaking of the QTM International Port Project at Cái Mép Hạ Port Area, Cái Mép – Thị Vải Port Complex, Ho Chi Minh City

The QTM International Port Project is located in the Cái Mép Hạ Port Area, within the Cái Mép – Thị Vải Port Complex, Phú Mỹ Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, and is invested in by QTM International Port Joint Stock Company, with a total investment of approximately VND 6.9 trillion (USD 262 million).

The project is being developed on a site of more than 80 hectares as an integrated seaport and logistics ecosystem, with a designed cargo handling capacity of approximately 16 million tonnes per year. Upon completion, the port will comprise eight berths, supported by nearly 200,000 m² of general warehouses and logistics facilities, capable of accommodating vessels of up to 60,000 DWT, with future expansion to serve vessels of up to 100,000 DWT.

The project officially broke ground on 5 July 2026 and will be implemented in two phases from 2026 to 2034. According to the development schedule, the first berth is expected to commence operations in the first quarter of 2028, Phase 1 is scheduled for completion in 2030, and the entire project is expected to be completed in 2034.
