The Ben Thanh – Can Gio Metro Project aims to provide rapid transit connectivity between downtown Ho Chi Minh City and Can Gio. The project is invested by VinSpeed (a subsidiary of Vingroup) with a total investment of approximately USD 4 billion (VND 86,650 billion).

The metro line will have a total length of about 52.9 km. It is designed as a dual-track electrified urban railway with a 1,435 mm gauge and a design speed of 350 km/h, featuring 2 main stations (Ben Thanh – Can Gio) and 4 additional proposed stations.

Construction is expected to begin on December 19, 2025, with test operations scheduled for late 2027 and official commercial operation planned for Q1 2028.
